System-based design

I know first hand how crucial it is to build the brand around frameworks to save you time, confusion, and drive long-term success. Being immersed in entrepreneur lifestyles for most of my adult life has given me the core value of things needing to be effective and efficient. You can make smart branding decisions without wasting time.

Foundational Design

I value the fundamentals of design over trends. This means things like legibility, color ADA compliance, hierarchy, etc. Basically being rooted in the fact that designs first purpose was to convey information easily. Being trained traditionally in design keeps my mind focused on the solutions, not just the pizzazz.

Your “-ness”

Unearthing what makes you you connects all the dots. Diving into the deep “why” of your biz starts to paint our picture. Without this, you just have a meaningless, pretty logo. It makes marketing easier, decisions clearer, and your business feel like it has a solid foundation (because it actually does). Others will feel it too.

I’m Julie — founder and creator.

Having been in the design industry for 15 years, I’ve grown to crave new experiences, challenges, and knowledge. Working with people in many fields from corporate campaigns to bootstrap new businesses, I find importance in working with others efficiently to deliver quality work and find real solutions to help others bring their ideas to life.

Along with bringing thoughts and feelings to fruition through design, giving people the confidence, clarity, and tools to craft their own life through business is my passion. I am inspired by humans and all the different ways a life can look, which makes travel paramount to my creativity and a cornerstone to filling my soul.

My belief is that simple, strong design builds brand recognition. To me, a design is finished when there is nothing left to take away.

Random Tidbits

Daily life

I became a mom in late 2023, and I think I’ll always feel like a new mom. I spend a lot of my time chasing her around, asking what snack she wants, being confused, and laughing.

Outer Space

I think about it everyday. The “pale blue dot” image is basically my religion and I think all world leaders should be required to go to outer space and look back at earth.

The Internet

Woooo what a place. I think the internet is weird but I know we need it and are lucky to have it in some ways. The balance weighs on me.

My Superpower

I can make a meal out of ANYTHING in the kitchen. No groceries? No problem. Lemme at those cabinets and I can put something together. This is where my resourcefulness truly shines.

Music

I am one of those ‘06 high school graduates who still listens to the same 20 songs on repeat. A lotta Coheed, Taking Back Sunday, and Anthony Green in here. A lot of 90s grunge too. No shame.

Travel

I get rocked with a stomach bug most places lol but it never keeps me from that street food! Japan, Cuba, and Thailand have been my favorite places, but we also dream about living in Costa Rica.

Art School

I went to art school in Boston where I drew a lot of naked people and learned from the best about the foundations of design. Learning about color 3x a week for an entire semester? Yes please.
